“In the latest sign that America is obviously headed to hell in a hand basket, a 16-year-old female altar server at a Catholic parish in Pittsburgh has accused a priest of forcing her to perform lap dances for male altar servers in his rectory.
“The St Mattress of the Holy Springs female server says the priest, Fr Louie la Leche, also kissed her on the lips in the sacristy, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
Police charge that la Leche, 29, also encouraged her to attend a hotel party where the festivities would have included a striptease…”
There are people in this world who would be happy if the above was a real story. You know it, and I know it.
No, here’s the real story, from The Daily Caller.
In the latest sign that America is obviously headed to hell in a hand basket, a 16-year-old student at a public high school in Pittsburgh has accused a teacher of forcing her to perform lap dances for male students in his computer technology class.
The Perry Traditional Academy student says the teacher, Michael White, also kissed her on the lips in a classroom, according to CBS Pittsburgh.
Police charge that White, 29, also encouraged her to attend a hotel party where the festivities would have included a striptease.
The girl declined, she said. However, the criminal complaint against White charges that the computer technology Lothario later seduced the girl into leaving school without permission and having sex at his house. This occurred at least twice, and the teacher also allegedly plied the teen with alcohol and marijuana.
“It would be (expletive) if you got pregnant by a teacher,” he reportedly said.
It’s unclear exactly what that mysterious expletive was.
The teacher has also been accused of touching a 15-year-old student inappropriately, adds the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
White’s arrest on Wednesday was action-packed. Police said they had to kick his door down because he wouldn’t let them in without a warrant.
I didn’t say it was a better story, just the real story. It’s sick either way. But I bet you yesterday’s coleslaw (I like coleslaw) that there are people out there who wish WISH WISH my version was the real story.
Imagine the national coverage – your tv’s would be melting from the outrage. The National Schismatic Reporter would be accusing the bishop of something or other. The entire Catholic Church would be indicted. And it would go on for days.
I predict this goes away in a day or so.
If only public school teachers could marry. If only they would allow female teachers….
I’m more cynical than you. I think this might get exploited to argue against allowing heterosexual males to work as high school teachers.
Well, there have been married female teachers who have had affairs with their young male students. So maybe schools should hire the same number of straight male single teachers and married female teachers, and perhaps they’ll end up leaving the kids alone.
I’m with Gregg on this one, and then again, I’m all over the place. I may leave the public school system if reports like this keep surfacing. Why are there co-ed classes in the first place? Why can’t male teachers get married? I suppose the silver lining here is that it encourages heterosexualism – or does it? What kind of terror was impsed up the male students? The under age girl should be expelled post haste.
What?
imposed
… and then again, I’m all over the place.
There’s your epitaph.
Don’t make this about me Larry.
Oh go ahead.
Your right. It’s sick either way. It probably will die down after a day or so. You’d think the newscasters would care more about teachers molesting or taking advantage of students. But then again, I guess the teacher isn’t the “right perpetrator” for them to vilify and call out for weeks. So sad….
I knew it was fake when you said there were male altar servers
Most parishes I’ve been to with female altar servers have female servers exclusively.
Yeah, that was a giveaway, wasn’t it?
larryd, the Onion is calling you!
Please pardon me if I’m serious for a moment but: I think the headline for this post was a mistake. It will be showing up on Internet searches from now on, and many people will read only the headline and not go on to read the post itself. I’m ashamed to say that even I thought it was a true story at first.
I suppose the public school system’s philosophy will be blamed for this, and a Hollywood film will exaggerate it, increasing vastly the number of perpetrators, and every news-media mention of the education system will include an allusion to the huge, growing numbers of such cases — “It’s almost time for back-to-the-troubled-and-controversial-school-system, folks” — “Principal takes helm of troubled and scandal-ridden school district” “Controversy characterizes debate over funding sources for scandal-ridden, controversial school system”….
