Sad And Useless captures my attitude towards the Oscars pretty well:
More “honest posters” here.
I must admit, though – Les Miserables was excellent. Haven’t seen any of the others, but based on past experience…nominated films mostly leave me feeling meh.
Good luck to them and all – hope no one breaks an arm congratulating themselves or stabs anybody with those daggers in their eyes…

The 1 movie that should have been nominated for best picture wasn’t. Skyfall. But then other than minor awards, the Oscars, with a few special awards, are notorious for not giving the Bond series their due. As usual when they do a major snub they will be doing a salute to 50 years of Bond.
For the most part, I gave up on the Oscars as being anything but a joke many years ago. The Razzies on the other hand. . . .
When I was just a wee girl, Oscar night was a big deal in our house. Popcorn was served while we all gathered around our tiny TV screen to see all the glamorous ladies in their pretty dresses.
Now we don’t even watch.
We’re saving Les Miz for our big TV at home.
