Should anything tragic ever happen to my family – heaven forbid – and the media and photographers descend on me like a flock of crows, may God grant me the grace to resist the impulse to shove their cameras so far up their asses that they can take pictures of the cavity where their hearts used to be.

Awful! They’ve had to assign a police officer to each of the victim’s family to keep the press away.
Their sole purpose is to get a law passed to ban all guns. They could care less about these unfortunate families of the Victims. The muslim in the oval office will use this tragedy to his advantage, communism cannot rule where citizens have a right to bear arms !
God forgive me if I am wrong, but when I heard about Obama’s “tears” when speaking about the tragedy today, I couldn’t help but think they were “crocodile tears” & that he will milk this tragedy as well.

this should not be about gun control. this should be about evil in the world. when this man(and Columbine youths,etc) turn to Goth, to evil, to fill their lives, then Satan encourages them to satisfy their lust for blood. But that is not mentioned. We are all at fault, all of us for being tolerant to sin, whether it be abortion, homosexuality,etc. And so we need to look inward, to see how we too sin.

This isn’t about gun control. This isn’t about the Second Amendment. This is about the First Commandment. We idolise money. We idolise celebrity. We make celebrities out of those who will make us money, and it troubles many not a whit just how they do it.
Hence this. Someone wants to be noticed, to declare life to be futile. They want to be heard, and they know that murdering a whole group of innocent children will get them the attention they seek, and perhaps even narcissistically think is their right. People like the murderer are probably already troubled enough, and the media just adds more fuel to the fire that is burning our civilisation to the ground.
America may be where the more extreme examples are, but I have no doubt my Australian home is passing down this road to doom. As C.S. Lewis said, spiritual nature, like physical nature, will be sated. Deny it food and it will gobble poison.
I was at Northern Illinois when the shootings happened there (February 14, 2010). We had the whole circus. At the Newman Center, the monseignor and the priests set clear rules for the media. There was one spot where they could film before Mass and/or prayer services. Once the Mass began, all cameras and photographers were shown the door. Members of the Dekalb police department were there to ensure that there was no doubt what would constitute trespassing.
Sadly, that is what is needed now in Newtown. Sadly, the quest for the “story” outweighs the need for authentic humanity.
May God have mercy on the souls of the departed, including the shooter.

Too bad there wasn’t an Elijah present to deal with the prophets of Baal that were trespassing in the church.
I’m not aware of any evidence that this shooter wasn’t encouraged by gun control advocates. The gun control crowd should have to address this question before speaking their piece.
The death toll in Newtown is horrible. It is also less than one average hour’s carnage from Planned Barrenhood.

It must be something they make you drink or eat at the major journalism schools … some chemical that castrates the sense of decency and depolarizes the moral compass. Perhaps they slip it into Kool-Aid?
